HELP!! — Calvert Green Village Plan

The parish plan was finally published in June 2011. It is a snapshot of the aspirations the community of Calvert Green.
These great ideas can only become a reality with the input and assistance of willing volunteers who can contribute their time and energy to making them happen.
Unfortunately, as things stand, there are very few people involved, therefore if you feel you have the time and energy required in order to make a significant difference to the community you live in please contact either the CGCA or the Parish Clerk for further information.
A small group has already been formed in order to focus on the
Re-development of the Village Hall and we will be meeting again in January ( date to be advised). If you are interested in joining this group please contact Karen Ford on 733286 or events@calvertgreen.com.
The following groups urgently need volunteers to lead activity in the following areas;
Improving the Environment
Village Amenities and Facilities
Allotment Association

Have your say - Community Led Planning
This is your chance to have your say about the future of our village. We all want the best  for the place where we live and we can really make change happen if we want to. What we need now is a collective view of the people who live here and their wants and needs from the community.

What is  the plan?
A community led plan is a process that underpins a community's vision for itself across all aspects of social, environmental and economic life. It celebrates positive features and activities, highlights local needs and contains a  detailed action plan to help meet those needs. These plans are produced by and for communities, based on a detailed survey and consultation which is widely inclusive, prompts action and influences others.

Do you want to be more involved in what can happen in Calvert Green?
The Government wants local communities to have more control of their own lives, to say what they want in their own community or parish and to work with other organisations to get it done.
Community Led Planning is a structured process, to create a vision for a community and an action plan to achieve it. The process involves using a mix of evidence collection, different types of consultation and debate at the very local neighbourhood level.  It is designed to be a process in which each and every citizen can participate. The resulting vision covers the social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of the community and all those who live and work there.

Calvert Green has  a group of residents currently working on and delivering the Village Plan. Our next task is the carry out a survey of all local residents and the questionnaire will be hitting your doormats soon. Please fill this in and send back as we need to know the  communities views in order to develop our Village Plan.

We are still at the early stages of the process and if you want to be involved now is the time to volunteer.
