WRG Incinerator
WRG recently amended its planning application for the incinerator. The main thing that would affect CG is that they want to use the main entrance on Brackley lane for the first 12 months of construction. This would mean all the heavy plant, concrete, cranes etc. would be travelling from the A41 via Brackley Lane increasing the amount of traffic considerably. The PC objected to this proposal and asked that the start of the construction be delayed until the new access road is completed. On the plus side; approximately 12 months after the incinerator is commissioned the Brackley Lane entrance will be closed to all traffic other than emergency vehicles.
Salt Bins
Well, we finally got the 6 new salt bins just before Christmas. Hopefully, by the time you read this AVDC will have filled them with salt ready for the first snow of winter. I hope you agree that the colour scheme is an improvement over the standard yellow ones. Unfortunately as the roads have not been adopted by the Council yet the PC had to purchase them and they cost us  £2300 for the 6! However, as we bought the AVDC recognised specification bins and placed them in the approved places the District Council have agreed to fill them for free. Hopefully they will help keep the main roads through the village passable this year.
Future Council Meetings

Council meetings are held at the Community Hall approximately every 6 weeks, usually on a Tuesday, but do check the list of dates as this is not always the case The next one will take place Thursday 16th Feb 2012 at 8pm.

All residents are welcome and are encouraged to ask questions or raise any concerns they have in the Open Forum at the end of the formal meeting. If you are unable to attend but do wish to raise something with the Council, please contact the Parish Clerk no less than 5 working days before the next Council Meeting.
