FAQ’S

Does the hall have a kitchen?

Yes, there is a spacious kitchen with hit tap, electric oven & hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. Use of crockery and glassware is included in the kitchen hire.

The hire of the kitchen facility is not included with the Hall or meeting room bookings. This is charged seperately please see the hire charges on the booking page.

Is the hall large enough to fit in a bouncy castle?

Yes! It measures approximately 18 x 8 metres and the ceiling height is just over 5 metres.

What sports are permitted in the main hall?

We do not allow ball sports including soft ball due to the wall mounted heaters. We do not hire the hall for roller stake parties due to potential damage to the wooden floor.

Badminton, gymnastics, fitness, Karate, Dance etc are all permitted.

Can we use the village green

The hire of the hall does not cover the use of the 'Village Green' Permission to use the green should be sought from Bucks Council.

The village green is owned by Bucks Council and not the Parish of Calvert Green. The CGCA can not agree to use of the green.

Are there facilities for the disabled?

Yes, all doors open wide enough for wheelchair access and there is a disabled WC. The hall itself is accessed by a ramp.

What is the hall capacity?

220 in the main hall and 20 in the meeting room.  

Use of chairs, tables (which seat 6) as well as small chairs & tables for young children (which seat 6) are all included in the hire fee.

When and where can I collect the keys?

Key information will be provided by the booking clerk prior to the hiring date. 

Is there heating in the hall?

Yes, heating in the is main hall by means of walls heaters located around the hall. Please ensure these are ALL switched off at the end of your hire.

Heating in the rest of the building is automatically controlled.

What is expected of the hirer?

We respectfully ask that upon leaving the hall you please make sure the following has been done;

  • All equipment chairs / tables etc are returned to the storage cupboards. 
  • All tables used are wiped clean and put away in the cupboard.
  • The hall floor must be swept (equipment can be found in the cupboard in the corridor)
  • If necessary, please mop the floor.
  • All kitchen utensils used must be washed, dried and put away.
  • Empty the bin and replace bin liner 
  • Close all doors including any hatch doors.
  • Turn all lights off
  • Turn all heaters off
  • Empty the fridge of all your items
  • Leave the toilets in a condition that you would like to find them (this includes replacing any toilet rolls you have emptied please!)
